Small Batch Software
This jar exists because the hard part was never the typing — it's knowing what to ask for, and that part can be taught.
Software built to fit one shop: yours. And a workshop that teaches you to do it without me.
Building software got cheap. Deciding what to build didn't. That gap is the whole opportunity right now, and it won't stay open — so the main thing on offer here is the skill itself, not my time.
Workshop
$75 a seatLearn to spec your own thing.
Half a day. You bring a problem from your own work and leave with a written specification for it — precise enough to hand to a developer, or to a model, or to nobody at all. The part we practice is the part the machines can't do: noticing that the problem you can describe isn't the problem you have.
Discovery
$750Or have it done once, and watch how it's done.
Half a day on site. I watch the work happen and ask about the parts your hands do that your description leaves out. You get a written specification you own outright and can take anywhere — including to someone else.
Build
Quoted separatelyIf you want the thing built, that is its own conversation.
Deliberately never bundled with discovery. If I sell you the build, I'm quietly motivated to spec what I already know how to build. Keeping them apart is what keeps the spec honest.
Workshops in Bend. Nothing on the calendar yet — I'm still lining up a room. If you want to know when there is one, say so and I'll tell you.
The reasoning behind all of this — including the ways it might be wrong — is written up in the Codex.
